Kristy Kononenko

Kristy was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and lived there for the majority of her life. She had to move due to the war that’s going on there. Kristy is very passionate about her country, but even though she misses Ukraine more than anything, she is happy to live in Berkshires. Kristy is a freshman at Monument Mountain High School. She is also a rhythmic gymnast, loves her sport and has been doing it for her whole life. In Ukraine, Kristy was a part of the National Ukrainian Organization “Plast” and had been selected as a leader of her group. In the organization, Kristy learned a lot about her country and supporting young people. She has been a consistent member of YOB since 2024.
