Kate Burke

Director of Social Work and Recovery Support

Kate Burke, LCSW grew up in South County. She grew up dreaming of being a professional ballerina and did it! After receiving her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory in 2003 and then dancing in various cities around the country, Kate moved back home (to the Berkshires) in 2009. Since then, Kate traveled the world, started a family, ran the Great Barrington Farmers’ Market, served on the Great Barrington Selectboard and worked for Berkshire Grown to establish farm to food access programs that serve community members throughout Berkshire County. Recognizing her desire to serve her community, Kate went back to school and received her MSW from Westfield State University. While at Westfield Kate was a recipient of grant funding from MA Department of Mental Health. Kate brings a strength-based relational approach and her knowledge of life in South County to her clinical practice with young people and their families. She has also uses her training in Invitation to Change (ITC), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). When not at work Kate can usually be found in her gardens or her kitchen baking something yummy.
